A set of parallel events of great interest, are scheduled to take place in the city of Athens within the framework of Athens Photo Festival 09, in order to create a broad-ranging platform for artistic expression, so as to inform the general public and generate more active participation in the festival.
Lectures
Well known photographers will present their oeuvre through a series of lectures, as well as their views on photography. They will project a series of their works on to a big screen and proceed to analyse and discuss these with the audience.
Educational program for kids
An experiential educational program for young children will take place, under the guidance of trained leaders, seeking to bring participants into contact with various aspects of the photographic medium and visual culture in general. This is an art practice, experimenting with personal and collective modalities of expression using cutting-edge digital media.
Photo competition
The Hellenic Centre of Photography organises a photographic competition aiming at encouraging the artistic expression of the public. The submission guidelines for the Photo competition have now been released.
